Our first project in Spain w/VoIP intercom.

We are happy to announce our first major project in Spain using 24 outdoor card reader stations with integrated VoIP intercom located throughout a large campus under control of our AMWATCH system. Our newest dealer, Nostracom, selected AMTEL solution over the others, based on our XPIP panel that can work on their existing LAN/WAN infrastructure. And with VoIP intercom capability, they were able to provide centralized HELP support from an existing control station on campus. A customized enclosure provides the field installation package. As you may know, we offer embedded intercom on our ticket machine and other stations. Now we can also offer VoIP intercom option for all our stations.

Understanding Time and Attendance Systems

Time and Attendance systems automate the task of tracking the exact working hours for employees so they are paid accurately and per the guidelines posed by the authorities. Key goals of such a system are:

  • Collect data on In & Out times for each employee

  • Account for special situations, like overtime, holiday time, break time, etc.

  • Provide data in a special format so programs for Payroll, etc can use it in an automated and efficient format.

In the past, punch-clocks were the standard device for Time & Attendance systems and buddy-punching (where someone else punches in your card) was quite common. To eliminate that practice, today most T&A terminals employ a fingerprint ID device. Also, it is possible for the same T&A terminal to control the access to the door also.

In addition to collecting data for the payroll programs, the T&A terminal can also act as a general purpose data collection terminal. A touch keypad on the terminal allows the user to enter information like job# (for cost accounting purposes) or customer # (for billing purposes), as the employee moves from one project to the next during the day.

AMTEL T&A terminal has direct TCP/IP connectivity, so it can be added on to the existing LAN infrastructure in the building. It can be used as a simple T&A terminal, or as a biometric Access Control Terminal (with fingerprint + card or fingerprint + code control) or as a combination T&A terminal / Access control Terminal / Data Collection Terminal.

AMTEL integrates Video w/Parking in South America!

Working with our long-time dealer, SIPECA, AMTEL is installing a parking control system using Central Cashiering Operation with a “Video-Check” capability integrated in the system. The key motivation is to reduce the chances of an auto-theft from the parking garage. When the patron takes a ticket, an embedded CCTV camera(s) take a photo of the driver (and the vehicle, if needed) and store it in the system with the proper ticket number. When the person brings the ticket to pay for parking, the cashier can see the picture of the driver to make sure that the person leaving the garage is the same one who entered the garage. All the entry lanes, central cashier stations and exit lanes are all connected on the TCP/IP network and are in real time communication over at high speeds.
